<![CDATA[Adrenaline Divas - Blog]]>Fri, 04 May 2012 07:32:51 -0800Weebly<![CDATA[Kinky Rain Jam]]>Tue, 14 Feb 2012 10:59:53 -0800http://www.adrenalinedivas.com/1/post/2012/02/kinky-rain-jam.html Even though we were for forecasted for 20mm of rain (or more), 11 girls still ventured out to Martock for the 3rd stop of Rugged Riders Kinky Rail Jam!  This shows true dedication in the hearts of the Scotia shred girls.  We had mini shreds as young as 6 to ladies in their late 20s come out for the day. 

The day started off slow, you could tell the rain was getting some people down.  The music was off from the mass amounts of rain getting into the amp and the skies were grey.  However, once the ladies started hitting the features and learning new tricks their eyes brightened and you could see the stoke meter rising. 

The boys who were there to help me with all the tech stuff and judge were a main reason for this; girls young or old always love when boys are getting stoked on their riding.  I think by the end of the day they had more fun than everyone else and let me tell you… we had A LOT of fun!

Before we knew it the clinic was over and the game of SPY began.  Kate, who is only 9 years old, took home the swag.  She only got one letter! 

We took a short break and decided to change the layout of the event a bit (oh! And the music started working again!).  With only 10 girls riding in the competition, it still pouring out and everyone soaked we decided to do one 45 minute jam instead of three separate half hour ones.  This worked out wonderfully, the more advanced riders got the beginners and intermediate riders stoked on hitting the larger features!  This led to all of the intermediate riders attempting to hit the kink rail!  The advanced riders killed it all day, we saw front boards, 270s… you name it, they tried it.  We saw huge progression within the beginners, with most of the trying front boards by the end of the day!

]]><![CDATA[Wentworth FEAST]]>Mon, 23 Jan 2012 09:36:13 -0800http://www.adrenalinedivas.com/1/post/2012/01/wentworth-feast.htmlWe hit up Wentworth on Sunday for another awesome FeasT event!  As always, Wentworth had us a private park for the day so that the girls can learn to jib without the boys snaking them. 
We had a 3 feature line for the girls to shred, which by the end of the day everyone was hitting all three features!  Right beside our mini park there was also a urban down rail which some of the more advanced riders seshed for a bit. 
Before we knew it the clinic was over and it was time for the contest.  Alexe and I took on the role of MCing the event, which we both decided is almost as fun (maybe funner?) then actually competing!
All in all it was an awesome weekend!  Girls in PEI and CB make sure you sign up for FEAST when we come to you!

3.  Krista ]]><![CDATA[Huge FeasT event at Martock]]>Sat, 21 Jan 2012 14:51:31 -0800http://www.adrenalinedivas.com/1/post/2012/01/huge-feast-event-at-martock.htmlThe ladies came out and laid it down today during the feast event at Martock!  This mornings clinic had three participants under the age of 8 who were slaying every small feature in the park, awesome to see the future female rippers out already.  Guest coaches included Billabong team rider Alex Duckworth, two time olympian Sarah Conrad and adrenaline divas teams member Sarah Payzant. You really can't beat that!  The afternoon saw 20 participants battling it out in style in two categories.  With Duckworth and Conrad on the judging panel along with Canada games medallist Jeremy Page, things were in good hands and these participants put on a show! 
Some of our standouts include Vea who was tearing it up at only 7 years old and took home a pair of Von zipper googles.  Our dakine Adrenaline Diva was Bridget who completed more competition runs today than thought possible.  The Dakine best bail went to Chantal who was able to take killer whipe outs and show no pain.  Most improved went home from this stop with an amazing Dakine bookbag and a pair of vz goggles, Nikki !

    I'm sitting at Martock right now actually, watching the snow fall and taking a little break to give you guys some LOVE!  I also just got a new laptop, so I'm back in the world of technology... So I hope to blog to you guys on a more regular basis again!
    So just a heads up to everyone, the FeasT tour starts in exactly 9 days..... I hope you are all stoked, I know I am!  We have some sick swag for ya'll and rumor has it this years t-shirts are a must have!
    Natasha and I will be taking Crabbe by storm on the 14th... get ready female rippers!  We can teach you anything and everything (almost... as long as you're not getting all buck wild on us and trying triple corks or somethin' crazy like that).  Dancing is also high on our list of things we are good at, so be prepared to land sick tricks and shake that booty ;)

    Wentworth and Martock are both open with some freestyle terrain, Crabbe is also open with lots park features up!  Poley is open (not sure about freestyle terrain), Brookvale is working hard trying to get their slopes open as is Ben Eoin!
EVERYONE GET STOKED!  And hope that this storm we're getting tomorrow is going to be all SNOW :D

]]><![CDATA[Shredventure]]>Mon, 28 Nov 2011 14:26:02 -0800http://www.adrenalinedivas.com/1/post/2011/11/shredventure.html    Saturday morning I woke up at 830am, stoked to head to wentworth with the boys, @louie13 and Gabe.  As I reach Halifax I get a call from Luke saying change of plans... lets hit Urban.  Stoked for the change of plans we hop in the car and go pick up Gabe and try to figure out what to hit. 
    We end up heading back down the valley, to find something to jib.  The boys set up the rail and soon its time for Snakebite to wake up from her nap.

        Heres the rail, pretty sick eh?  Too bad Snakebite (me) decided to make it a day of hard ass bails which resulted in matching bruises on my thighs, shins and a huge one on my back.  I'm pretty bummed about it... but whatever.  Better luck next time :)
The boys however destroyed the rail, got some sick shots and had a time.
They ended up crashing at the farm for the night with plans to hit more stuff the next day.  We wake up the next morning (errr... pretty much afternoon) and hit the road in the ol' G5.  I however end up putting some cracks in my oil pan and that puts an end to the valley shredventure.  :(

]]><![CDATA[Peace Out 2011 Season]]>Wed, 11 May 2011 16:21:19 -0800http://www.adrenalinedivas.com/1/post/2011/05/peace-out-2011-season.html    Well, some may say this post is a little delayed... But really I think the timing is perfect.  The Scotian shred season has been over for around a month and in this month without snowboarding... I have been able to reflect on the past winter.  What a winter it was, it flew by faster then a hummingbird on it's way to one of those strawberry, sugar-water filled humming bird feeders.  Which is pretty fast if you ask me ;)
    A huge shout out to everyone who has helped out Adrenaline Divas this past winter.... Steele Subaru, Wilsons Gas, Billabong, VonZipper, Women in Snowboarding, Entity, Pro Girl, RBC, Dakine, East Coast Lips.... Wentworth, Martock, Ben Eoin, Crabbe and Brookvale for letting us hold events there... A huge thanks to Jess Tasker for photos from events and to Jeremy Wheaton for filming/making edits of Get Railed and KRJ!  
    Personally, I'd like to thank Natasha and Rob @ Entity for helping me out this season -- You guys ROCK!  I'm sure I can talk on behalf of fellow team rider Steph on this too!  A huge shout out to all my homies for making the mulitiple mini road trips we went on this winter pretty enjoyable, the shredding interesting and halarious, making me try new tricks and making me love snowboarding more then ever.  To anyone I've briefly met this season -- I hope we meet again soon, holla' at a girl if you're in my area ;)
    I hope everyone enjoys the non-winter months.  Check out Scotia Sessions Wakeboard Park, go skateboard, build a backyard setup for the winter... do anything you can, just don't lose that shred stoke!
